Mike A. Tiger's Football Blog: Miles Out-Sabaned Nicky

Unless you are a fan of flag football, Saturday's slugfest in Tuscaloosa lived up to the hype as the Game of the Century. So that means people who follow Conference USA and similar non-SEC conferences either thought the game was boring or they came away with the opinion that neither Bama nor LSU have offenses worth a  hoot.

Mike A Tiger's Football Blog: Al Abama - 2 Inconvenient Truths

This is crazy.

I've never seen this kind of hype, but the SEC has never seen this kind of #1 vs. #2 in regular season.  Ever.  The buzz is everywhere, the hype is ratcheting up each day exponentially like the Richter Scale.  So what more can little ole me say about the game than what you can read and see on all of the regular media and the Internet?

Plenty! There are two "inconvenient truths" that few have brought up in all of this hype, and here they are:

Here we Geaux again: Hide the kids, lock up the womenfolk and throw out the record books. Auburn is coming to play.
Mike A Tiger's Football Blog: Forrest Gump Invented the Corn Dog...Sort Of

"HEY CORNDOG!"

First time I heard that I didn't even know it was directed at an LSU fan.  Even after it was clear the opposing fan was taking his finger out of his nose long enough to point and compare me to a battered mystery meat log on a stick, it just didn't make any sense.

Well, count on your buddy Mike A. Tiger to hunt down the truth of the matter, and it evokes the Forrest Gumpism that "Stupid is as stupid does."  So here is the real story of the corn dog reference and how it came to be.  And why those Tiger fans who know the history are laughing even harder about it now.

Mike A Tiger's Football Blog: Moo U

Mike A. Tiger here.  Been busy prowling the jungle and mending from a nasty case of carpel paw syndrome. So I'm back for now and my blogs will be briefer than the past because Mrs. A. Tiger wants me to spend more time cleaning my cage.  And because I figger if I make them half as long I'll get half the complaints.

Former LSU Teammates Wow Crowd at Kickoff Event

LSU Atlanta and the TAF Georgia chapter hosted a very entertaining kickoff party at Buckhead Saloon on August 27.  No less than FIVE former Tigers who were teammates during the Jerry Stovall and early Bill Arnparger coaching years spent nearly an hour swapping stories and talking about LSU football.  In the process, we raised over $1,400 for Great Cats of Indiana and also auctioned off autographed photos of Miles, Chavis and Kragthrope and will donate over $200 to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Research Foundation. A BIG thanks to everyone who showed up, and those of you who didn't missed a GREAT show.

LSU Atlanta Offers FIVE Football ViewIn Locations

This is the season to get up out of your isolation and join a group of LSU fans to enjoy Tiger football.  Here are the five 2011 Official View In locations spread around metro Atlanta.  Just by patronizing these places for games you will be helping build our scholarship endowment fund.  And the Tiger Prize Patrol will visit each location at least once during the season. Watch the weekly newsletters during the season for updates! Subscribe here if you are not on the list.  Read on for locations and details...

Coach Miles on CBS 46 Sportsline Saturday June 13 at 7 pm

Bulletin: Les Miles will be on CBS 46 Sportsline Saturday

Gil Tyree from Channel 46 was at the Tiger Tour last night.  Our board member Mark Richard a/k/a Boudreaux emailed Gil to find out what would be on the air.

Tyree replied that Coach Miles will be on CBS Atlanta’s Sportsline Saturday tomorrow night at 7 pm.  He said Coach Miles will be the lead story for the show.

Since LSU Baseball plays Virginia on ESPN you might set your DVR to record the show to watch Coach Miles later…like in the 6th inning when LSU is safely10 runs up on the Cavaliers!

Don’t forget all College World Series games with LSU will be shown on big screens with audio at Buffalo Wild Wings in Alpharetta, with a CWS shirt and hat giveaway courtesy Tigermania.net.
