WORTH NOTING:
LSU goes into the Troy contest looking to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time since the 2002 season. The last time LSU lost back-to-back games in football, Nick Saban was the Tigers' coach and current LSU starting quarterback Jarrett Lee was just an eighth-grader. LSU's last back-to-back losses came in 2002 when the Tigers dropped a 21-20 decision to Arkansas to close out the regular season and then fell to Texas by a 35-20 count in the Cotton Bowl. The last time LSU lost consecutive regular season games came in 2001 when the Tigers fell to Tennessee and Florida in back-to-back games. LSU is 8-0 under Les Miles following a loss, which includes a 2-0 record in 2008.

LSU goes into the Troy game having won 24 straight non-conference contests in Tiger Stadium. The 24 straight non-conference wins dates back to the 2000. The last time the Tigers lost a non-conference home game was against UAB by a 13-10 count on Sept. 23, 2000. Overall, LSU has won 17 straight non-conference games, a streak that includes three consecutive bowl victories. LSU's last non-conference loss came to Iowa in the 2005 Capital One Bowl by a 30-25 count.

LSU coach Les Miles is 17-0 in non-conference games with the Tigers. In five non-conference games in 2007, LSU outscored its opponents 222 to 50 in going 5-0 against Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Tulane, Louisiana Tech and Ohio State. In the 17 non-conference games the Tigers have played under Miles, LSU has outscored its opponents 616 to 139 or by an average of 36.2 to 8.2. This year, LSU has outscored its three non-conference opponents 117-26.
