Band Together Atlanta Kickoff Party
Saturday NOON - 3 pm
Copeland's Restaurant
(Cumberland at Cobb Parkway/US 41)

Saturday’s second annual “Band Together Atlanta” Football Kickoff Party will have something for everyone - football talk featuring national sports writer Ray Glier, big screen motivational videos and highlights, brand new Tiger Band DVD video and music, great Louisiana food and Tiger tailgate atmosphere. And no admission charge.

However, we are gathering to pay tribute to our one-of-a-kind Golden Band From Tigerland and raise money to help complete the new Tiger Band Hall fund. Copeland’s is donating a portion of food and drink sales and we encourage everyone to generously participate in our raffle and live auction to make a loud roar of support that the band will hear in Baton Rouge.

The Live Auction offers some GREAT items for Tiger fans:

  • LSU football autographed by Les Miles and coaching staff
  • LSU baseball autographed by Paul Mainieri
  • “What it Means To Be A Tiger”  book autographed by Les Miles
  • One whole Ham from Logan Farms Honey Hams

Our featured speaker will be Ray Glier, sports writer for USA Today, New York Times, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other publications. Glier is the author of the new book “What It Means To Be A Tiger”  which profiles several Tiger football greats and includes a Foreward by Les Miles.

Another special guest speaker will be Tiger Band alum and band grad assistant Rudy Gilbert, who is currently Director of Bands at Norcross High School. Tiger Band alums from our area will also have the opportunity to share their Tiger Band experience and thoughts.

BULLETIN: Rumors of a major honor coming to the LSU Tiger Marching Band will be CONFIRMED with a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT on Saturday. This news has an Atlanta connection and will be revealed in advance of any public or media notification - you will hear it FIRST at this event!

Our thanks to Copeland’s of Atlanta, a new Champion level LSU Atlanta sponsor that  will donate 10% of all food and beverage sales from the event.  Our special thanks goes to Managing Partner Glen Helmstetter who is donating the 2006 Final Four autograph basketball to show his support for the band and our chapter.

We’ll see you there!
