Coach Johnson Talks SEC Basketball on 680 The Fan  - Link to Listen

Johnson Wants to See Lots of Fans at Tiger Tour Multimedia Show at Cobb Galleria on June 11

Tuesday, LSU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Trent Johnson chewed the fat on The Rude Awakening Show on 680 The Fan, talking about his first year impressions of playing in the SEC and other topics of interest. He also displayed a tremendous amount of wit and humor.

Johnson will be a featured speaker along with Coach Les Miles and Athletic Director Joe Alleva at the Tiger Tour program coming to Atlanta for the first time on Thursday, June 11th. With big screen TVs and premium audio for the three hour multimedia show, about the displays and silent auction, the Tiger Tour has been called the best-produced college sports tour anywhere. With only 300 seats available, there won’t be a bad seat in the house. 

There is only one Tier 1 premium table left, and you can still work on bringing a group of 8 together for a reserved Tier 2 table - even if you’ve already submitted a partial order. Simply call one of the contacts on the order form and they will work with you to get your group table reserved. Individual ticket holders will be free to sit anywhere in the tables behind reserved ones and will still have a great view.

LSU Baseball View In for SEC Tournament at Buffalo Wild Wings Alpharetta 7:30 pm Friday and…

...at 2:30 pm on Saturday assuming an LSU win. The championship game is Sunday at 4 pm if the Tigers keep swinging the bats to support their stellar pitching.  The place for LSU Atlanta fans to gather is Buffalo Wild Wings in Alpharetta (Mansell exit off Ga. 400, go east ¼ mile).

Of course, the NCAA tournament games will be the ones that really matter (although winning this tournament will go a long way to help seed LSU at home) and all games that are available will be view ins at Buffalo Wild Wings all the way to Omaha!

“Last Crawfish Party of 2009” Saturday May 30 at Depeaux Restaurant: Remember to RSVP by Tuesday

As reported last week, our next In Town Tigers gathering will gather LSU fans  to enjoy boiled crawfish at Depeaux Restaurant in Decatur next Saturday, May 30th at 1 p.m.

This may be the last mudbugs you will find in Atlanta this season. Depeaux’s regular platter price has been $18 but the price will be discounted to $15for everyone who RSVPs by Tuesday May 26. They are also offering $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon Tall Boys and $4 schooners of Abita draft beer- and everyday they offer no less than SIX varieties of Abita on tap!

LSU Atlanta has introduced Members Only drawings as a new benefit for dues paying members this year. We will have a drawing approximately every month for the rest of the year.  Join or Renew for 2009 Today to be eligible for these drawings.

Annual dues are only $20. You can join here using Paypal or by mailing in a check. Dues are for the calendar year. Also remember you don’t need to be an LSU grad to be a member of LSU Atlanta - we welcome “alumni by choice” as members! Your interest in supporting LSU and your dues are the only things necessary.

In Town Tigers Announce "Vino U" Series at Tastings Starting June 4

This will be a fun series of "Wine 101" informational tastings that will teach all the basics about wine and offer tastings of five wines with cheese and hors d' oeuvres...all for only $15 each session.  This will be informal so you don't have to sign up or attend every week, but there will be a fun quiz at the end of each session and one person will get a $10 discount on a $20 Tastings card for a future return visit.  More details will be posted on our Web page and Facebook and in the next newsletter.
