Depending on the outcome, the second LSU game will be played at either 2 pm or 7 pm Monday, then either Wednesday or Friday. Information about CWS brackets and schedules can be found here.

Sponsor Spotlight: Tigermania.net Has College World Series Fan Gear

The place to geaux to find all of your LSU fan gear is www.Tigermania.net. Tigermania has two retail locations in Baton Rouge (see website for information) but you can get virtually everything they sell at their Website as well.

Tigermania.net now has LSU “College World Series Bound” hats and shirts available online right now, and will have even more stuff if (no, WHEN) LSU wins it all again.

LSU Atlanta is grateful for the tremendous support shown to us by Tigermania.net. Much of the LSU branded items that are being offered as door prizes and in drawings have been provided by these great Tiger fans, and we encourage you to patronize them for your LSU fan gear needs!

Tiger Tour: Miles and Johnson Tell Gathering They Love Atlanta, Want to Come Back

The 2009 Tiger Tour took the Cobb Galleria by storm last night. A crowd of 250 LSU faithful got an “up close and personal” impression of the two men who guide the men’s basketball and football programs, and it was an entertaining and informative experience for everyone there. Due to a scheduling change, A.D. Joe Alleva was not able to secure a flight to Atlanta in time to attend, but that provided extra time for more Q&A with the coaches.

Best of all, both Trent Johnson and Les Miles expressed how important Atlanta was to them as a recruiting area and thanked all the loyal LSU fans here who show their colors and share their school memories and stories about Tiger Stadium and great sports moments that help build the reputation of LSU in the region.

Thanks to everyone who helped as volunteers and who bought tickets, merchandise and auction items to support this great tour. This could not have been possible without a cooperative effort between LSU Atlanta and the TAF Georgia Tigers and the partnership has been a good one. From all reports of the traveling team our turnout and enthusiasm was excellent and we can be optimistic for return Tiger Tour visits in the future.

An Important Notice About Unofficial Emails Some are Receiving

Over the past year some longtime subscribers of our emails have been receiving other emails that suggest they are coming from LSU Atlanta or LSUAA. In some cases the information contained includes pieces that have been cut and pasted from our official newsletter without our knowledge, and it has caused some confusion and even misinformation.

For example, the hybrid email that some received yesterday contained information about our sponsors that is incomplete, incorrect and at least six months out of date. We again want to make sure everyone knows that, contrary to the old information presented, Rio Grande Cantina in Buckhead is no longer a view in location or a supporter of LSU Atlanta.  Please pass the word to your LSU friends. We are in the final stages of completing plans for multiple LSU Atlanta View In Locations, including a brand new business opening in August in Buckhead with state of the art video and audio. An announcement will come very soon.

We think it’s great that fans share articles and features they find interesting about LSU sports by email with their friends. (Our LSU Atlanta Home Page has a constantly updated digest of LSU news and links you can follow so we don’t include a lot of this in our newsletters to keep them as brief and localized as possible.) We appreciate when people communicate with others about our events and programs like the LSU license plate program. But we do not appreciate those that attempt to look like they are official chapter communications and contain outdated or incorrect information.

The chapter has repeatedly asked the sender of these unofficial “newsletters” not to falsely imply that they are coming from the Atlanta chapter. Since they have continued and have created confusion with some of our members, we felt compelled to make this statement to clarify the situation.
