Boudreaux Joke Lunch & Laugh at Boudreaux’s in Duluth

NEXT SATURDAY 1 pm

Okay, what could be more natural than sharing Boudreaux jokes with other Looziana folk at a place named Boudreaux’s Cajun Market and Café? As all Louisiana folks know, Boudreaux is the Cajun Everyman, the guy with country smarts and wit as sharp as a gator’s tooth…until he outsmarts himself, yeah. And there are as many Boudreaux jokes as there are Cajuns.

Join us next Saturday, July 18th at 1 pm for the first-ever Boudreaux Joke Lunch & Laugh to be held at Boudreaux’s Cajun Market and Café in downtown Duluth. It will be a very casual affair…enjoy munching lunch from Boudreaux’s menu while people stand up and share their favorite Boudreaux jokes for an hour or more. By audience acclaim, the best joke told in the best way will win a nice gift certificate for the next trip back to Boudreaux’s.

You don’t have to tell a joke, it’s OK if you come out and help share in the laughter. And we’ll even have a selection of Boudreaux jokes printed out for you to choose from if you want to compete but can’t remember a good one. Oh yeah…Thibodeaux can be in the jokes too!

CLICK HERE for Information and Directions to Boudreaux’s in downtown Duluth.  NOTE: Boudreaux’s does not have a license to sell beer and wine, but you are welcome to bring your personal cooler if you desire.

It’s a great way to break up the long sports drought between a College World Series Championship and kick off for what we hope will be another football championship run. We’ll see you there!

LSU Atlanta General Membership Meeting Next Saturday

The board of LSU Atlanta will hold a general membership meeting to review new By Laws for the organization next Saturday at Noon, immediately prior to the Boudreaux Joke event (see above). If you receive this newsletter, you are invited to attend.

If you’ve been connected to LSU Atlanta for some time you know there have been a lot of new and different things going on…like the King Cake Party, basketball and baseball view ins, In Town Tigers activities, next week’s Boudreaux joke event and the soon-to-be-announced expanded football view in locations. We have also partnered with the Georgia chapter of TAF to produce fundraisers for the LSU Tiger Band Hall, host an Athens baseball tailgate and brought the Tiger Tour with Les Miles to Atlanta.

The board and volunteers are committed to having the best alumni chapter in the country and to provide all LSU fans in metro Atlanta with plenty of ways to connect, have fun and get involved. We are also committed to our mission to expand our local LSU scholarship endowment fund.  We also invite any and all to contribute their comments and especially their volunteer time to participate as much as they can.

Among our changes is some reorganization. The LSU Alumni Association in Baton Rouge has encouraged larger chapters to incorporate themselves and we recently took that step so we can be better organized for our members as well as better accountable in relation to local, state and federal authorities.   The new by-laws are a product of this reorganization. If you would like to review the first draft version prior to the meeting, please email info@lsuatlanta.com and we will send you a copy.

Keep Talking Up LSU License Plates

We continue to receive 2-3 applications per week for the LSU specialty Georgia license plates and will pass 430 this week. But we need the pace to pick up and it will take everyone to help get the word around the state to LSU fans who still haven’t heard about it – or have a misconception about what it is and how to get it.

The state won’t help us very much. They have the plate listed in an obscure place on their Web site and will not allow any literature at tag offices. Many employees there are unaware about it. And you know that the media around Georgia aren’t going to help get information out. That leaves you and the rest of us to direct people to our Web page to download the application. Even if you have decided not to participate for some reason, PLEASE tell your other LSU contacts about it. There can be no better promotion of LSU in the state of Georgia than to have 1,000 or more vehicles bearing our logo on their plate every day.

The place to get correct and current information is at www.LSUatlanta.com!
