Crawfish Boil: Jambalaya and Something Sweet Added to Food List
Get your tickets now for the 2009 "Crawfish Craze in Red Clay Country" to be held at Riverside Park Pavilion at “Bayou Allatoona” from Noon – 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 25th. As a newsletter subscriber, you know we’ve listened to your feedback to provide variety and more things to do. New features include:
- Live music - Zydeco and New Orleans rhythms by Zydefunk sponsored by Duffy Realty of Georgia
- The largest door prize list EVER (and a couple extra for Members Only)
- Live auction of LSU football tickets and more with a REAL auctioneer!
- Tailgating “Touchdown Village” – bring your setups and stake out a piece of the lawn
- Lawn games – Horseshoes and Corn Hole or bring your own
- Order as much crawfish as you want – buy in 2 lb and 4 lb. platter sizes
- Something for everyone in food choices
While crawfish is the star, we know some people –especially the young 'uns - don’t eat crawfish, and some like it but don’t eat as much as others. That’s why we reorganized it so that there is an admission charge that includes non-crawfish food, prizes, games and the live band, and then you can choose whether to pay for boiled crawfish, corn and potatoes- and can order a little or a lot to suit your appetite. UPDATE: The under 12 child's ticket is only $3, but if you have a baby or toddler that will not be eating much you do not need a ticket for them. Rule of thumb is that if your child is old enough to eat a hamburger or hot dog you need a ticket for them.
We’ve happy to announce that Catering Cajun of Georgia, our boiling experts, has agreed to renew sponsorship with the chapter and will celebrate by adding chicken and sausage jambalaya to the menu. Another great sponsor, Henry’s Louisiana Grill, is providing red beans and rice, and our own Captain Bill will be cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs. (Remember to bring your own coolers with whatever you want to drink).
And stay tuned for even more food updates, including a sweet surprise, and watch for a special announcement in next week’s newsletter about all of the auction items that will be available. Thanks to board member Mark Richard, we have obtained an incredible piece of Tiger Stadium history that some lucky bidder will be proud to win and display in his or her Tiger Room! What is it? We’ll tell you next week!
More information about the boil is on our front page. To get tickets now CLICK HERE TO ORDER ONLINE or CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE MAIL ORDER FORM.

Get Eight Tiger Fans Together and Reserve a Table for The Tiger Tour with Les Miles on June 11th
Thanks to the efforts of your alumni chapter and the Atlanta Tigers TAF chapter, we have succeeded in obtaining a coveted tour stop for this star-studded multimedia show that is coming to the Cobb Galleria Thursday, June 11th. While you can order individual tickets for only $55 each until May 15th, why not gather up seven other fan friends and reserve a table and get a little closer to the action on stage? Tier 2 tables are only $440, same cost as eight regular tickets. There are a few Tier 1 premium tables still left for $600. With capacity expected to be 300, there won’t be a bad seat in the house, but it will be even more fun if you enjoy it with other friends at your own table.

LSU License Plate Update
As of last week, our total is at 332 pre-paid applications received for the LSU license plate drive for Georgia. This is a slight improvement over the previous two weeks, but we are still far from our goal of 1,000 pre-paid applications to get production started. We have until the end of next April to get Tiger fans signed up.
Your chapter (with help from our TAF friends in Georgia) has made this project a top priority since it was approved last year, and we have done many things to get the word out. Unfortunately, we know we are not going to get one ounce of media publicity so we have to rely on our website, emails, and word of mouth to spread the word. We have also produced flyers and posters as well as LSU Atlanta/Georgia LSU plate business cards for people to hand out to folks they meet or see out and around with LSU gear. Please pick up a handful of cards at our crawfish boil if you can help, or email us at info@lsuatlanta.com if you want some sent to you.
It is up to all of us to do what we can to spread the word, and to get people who have been waiting to go ahead and get their application and $25 fee in. The fee is refundable if we do not make it so there is no risk in applying!
Finally, our license plate hero Michele Heiger will be moving back to New Orleans for a job opportunity soon, which is great for her but sad for us. Sarah Clayton will be taking over the license plate program. Note in our web page story that applications should now be sent to Sarah at our regular address.
