LSU Atlanta Board Member Receives LSU Alumni Assn. Service Award

Each year the LSU Alumni Association brings together its biggest donors and most active volunteers for its Accolades Banquet held at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. They also host a chapter development workshop where alumni can share information and experiences that strengthen LSU’s presence around the country with its 125 chapters. At last Saturday’s banquet LSU Atlanta Vice President Del Moon was one of six 2010 recipients of chapter service awards. Also attending from Atlanta were President Steve Ory, Treasurer Tim Schmidt and board member Gale Ory. On Saturday Del and Steve offered a workshop session on sponsorship and communications. Moon joins other past Atlanta volunteers including Emily Hubbard, Sarah Clayton and Ellen Benelli who have also received similar awards in the past for alumni work in Atlanta. “It’s great to receive this individual recognition, but it’s also a reflection of all of the time and effort put in by the entire board and our volunteers to take ideas and make them into a reality,” Moon says. “The more people step up and take pieces of the work, the less everyone has to carry and the more fun it will be.”
