
Get ready for a whole afternoon of fun on Saturday, May 8th at “Bayou Allatoona.” Please read all the event details below. The 2010 edition will be very much like last year's boil that so many people raved about. Your required admission includes a sumptuous Cajun Buffet, live music by Zydefunk (thanks to Duffy Realty of Atlanta for helping make this possible), one free raffle ticket, a live auction, a tailgate area, lawn games and more! Then, order any amount of spicy boiled crawfish in 2 lb. and 4 lb. platter increments. What a deal!
EVENT DETAILS:
The 2010 "Crawfish Craze in Red Clay Country" to be held at Riverside Park Pavilion at Lake Allatoona from Noon – 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th. Please note buffet food service begins at Noon and goes until 2:30 p.m., followed by our exciting auction, more Zydefunk and social time for folks to visit.
Our crawfish boil returns to the beautiful riverside picnic setting of "Bayou Allatoona" (Lake Allatoona's Corps of Engineers Riverside Park Pavilion 45 minutes NW of downtown (Slideshow

HERE) The expansive park features paved parking, a covered pavilion with lots of table seating, permanent bathrooms and a playground area. The party kicks off at noon. Catering Cajun will once again be bringing the crawfish from Louisiana and cooking them fresh on site.
Admission and Food: There will be a $10 admission for all adults, and only $3 for children under 12, which allows everyone to sample red beans and rice from Henry’s Louisiana Grill, chicken and sausage jambalaya from Catering Cajun, mini-muffalettas from Atkins Park, grilled boudin and sausage from Cajun Meat Company, desserts by Copeland's and Catered Cakes, plus hamburgers and hot dogs. Mudbug lovers have the additional option to order in advance for boiled crawfish platters at 2 lb. for $10 or 4 lb. platters for $20. You can order as many platters in any combination to get just the amount of crawfish you want. Corn and potatoes come with the platters (while it lasts) and are not included in the weight. Note: there may be extra crawfish available for purchase on the day of event, but we can only guarantee what is ordered by May 2ndth to know how much to bring in from Louisiana. Also note that while we will have bottled water while it lasts, this is a “bring your own beverages” event, so don’t forget to bring your cooler with your preferred beverages.
Raffle Prizes: There will be over 30 door prizes given away, including restaurant certificates, LSU hats, shirts and other gear, Community Coffee gift baskets and coffee, and more. Everyone gets one ticket with admission, and you will be able to obtain more when you check in. Proceeds go to our scholarship endowment fund.
Members Only Drawing: There will be a prize drawing from among the dues-paying members only in attendance.
Live Auction: In addition to sponsoring our live band, Duffy Realty Co. will also provide a professional auction team to provide an entertaining experience! Rhonda Duffy is not only the top real estate agent in Georgia, she is also a licensed auctioneer and has offered to “kick it up a notch” for a truly fun charity auction. The star item will be the 2009 Alex Box Stadium Dedication First Pitch Ball autographed by Alex Box' namesake, Paul Manieri and Skip Bertman. Mr. Box (an Augusta resident) will be at the boil too!. Plus pairs of 2010 LSU Football home game tickets, a crawfish boil for ten by Boudreaux's Cajun Market and Cafe, and maybe more.

"Tailgate" at the Boil: This was a big hit last year, and you are again welcome to bring your own canopy and tailgate coolers and setups to transform the open lawn area into “Touchdown Village.” (Note: The Corps of Engineers prohibits vehicles on any grass areas of the park.)
